The friendship with Gratch...

The thing impressed me of this book is the friendship between Richard and Gratch [a Gar, a beast (poor Gratch I don't think it is a beast as many others use to say)]. During their first meeting Richard save the Gar from the others adult Gars that wanted to eat "him". After saving him Richard let Gratch free to go wherever he liked but He decided to remain with his rescuer. Richard was very sad because Kahlan ordered hin to wear again a collar and let him alone (there is an explanation of this decision after in the novel) with Sister Verna so he decide to take him as a friend and their relationship continued in the time of all the series but expecially when he was alone in the country near the Prophets' palace. I think it is a very beautiful relationship between them and even if many said Gratch was a beast I think it was more human than many of them. There was a famous phrase Gratc used to say when someone mentioned Richard:

"Graaaatch luuuug Rach arrg"

What do you think about this relationship?????? DO you agree with me?????

the relationship became what it was also because richard felt completely alone at the palace... he was a prisoner and unwilling to befriend anyone... ok... he befriends warren... but i think his better friend was Gratch... the beast love richard unconditionally giving richard a good feeling...

Yes singularity of course Richard had a lot of friends during the "imprisonment" like Warren, the guards, also Verna but this relationship qith Gratch was the thing that made Richard not feel alone

if only we all could have a friend like Gratch...

because if everyone has a Gar as a friend discussing with them would be dangerous

don't you think that maybe people would learn to be more careful? instead of imagining that fights would break out?

yes it can be a possibility but in the world there were, there are and there will be always people who think that they are better than others

and this thought will start a fight? a fight between gars? i thought that short tailed gars were very smart...

yes but they are proud too so....

maybe proud but that doesn't mean they won't reason a little better than an irrational man
